Here's your "QuoteAction" of the day:
"The measure of success is not whether you have a tough problem to deal with, but whether it is the same problem you had last year."
Former Secretary of State, James Foster Dulles
Your action for today is to write down one of your current tough problems, then ask yourself if you had this same problem last year.? If so, then seek additional help to solve your problem.

My Life Experiencing With Disability (Part 11)
At the end of the last chapter, I stated that the doctors had finally diagnosed me with Neuropathy. This was not because all the evidence pointed that way but because of the tingling and numbness in my hands and they did not know what to do. You see, I did not have any of the other symptoms associated with Neuropathy but to them enough to label it as such.
Of course, when the medical professionals do not know what to do, or what is wrong with you but there is pain; give medication to help deal with the pain and tell you to return in 6 weeks. It is not if it is no better. It is as a matter of fact, we will see you in 6 weeks because this is not going to working no way.
While on the medication, I was really zonked out, unable to care for my daughter who requires total care. She can not talk or walk. We had to get a home health care aide for her. Teaching them her different face expression, at times, was a chore because I would be so out of it that I could not stay awake or make sense.
By the grace of God, I remember, I had written a daily programme for her that gave complete details of her daily schedule for the day program that she is attending. This was a tremendous help to her aide.
The only time I did not feel the pain was when I was knocked out from medication. Telling the doctors each time I went there that the pain were not getting any better became like a broken record. Each time, a different pain medications was prescribed or they increased the dose, still with no good results.
The doctors were still saying that the pain was from the Neuropathy. That the pain was the chosen spot the nerves fire from is the reason I was feeling such pain. Mind you, it was not sore to the touch but pain deep down in the Detoid muscles, which is between your shoulder and armpit.
My question to them was “why is it that I have the numbness and tingling in my hand and none of the other symptoms”. There was a very slight tingling some time in my left hand if my right shoulder was aching really reeaallly bad. By this time, my hand had started to shake a little on the right side only especially when my shoulder was hurting extremely bad.
They tried to give me all kind of reasons why it possibly could be. I started insisting that they stop concentrating on Neuropathy and concentrate on the pain in the shoulder as possible something else wrong with the shoulder. I had been in an automobile accident about 6-8 months before any of this started. They had convinced me that if I had injured my shoulder during that accident, I would have felt the symptoms long before the 6-8 months later.
This seemed very normal and possible to me but the problem still remained.
I trust you will remain with me for the next chapter in my long journey to come soon…

My Life Experiencing with Disability
Hi Everyone!
I know I have been away for a while but I am trying to get back in full swing as quickly as possible.
First, I must warn you in advance that this is a long journey, so I will be doing it is parts as not to bore you too much.
In the past, I have written of working with or adopting disabled individuals but now I will be writing as a person with a temporary disability involving severe pain, numbness and tingling.
I had rotator repair surgery done twice in my right shoulder. It started out of the blue about 3 years ago or so. My fingers started tingling whenever I tried to grasp anything especially the steering wheel of my van.
I did not pay much attention to it at first. I just figured I was grasping the wheel too tight. It continued to get worse. So a couple of months later, strangely, I started having severe cramps in the back of my legs especially when I would wake up in the morning and gave myself a good stretch. They would be so hard until it would bring tears to my eyes and leave a large blue mark.
I went to the doctor more for the cramps than anything else. The tingling by this time was turning into numbness. My feet were starting to get extremely cold especially at night, until, I had to layer them to even start to get them warm. Wrapping 5-6 times with bath towel has become the norm.
The doctor diagnosed me with “Neuropathy and put on medication to manage the pain associated with the tingling and numbness.
So for almost two years later, the problem had worse instead of better. I had gone to several different doctors, each referring me for a different test, to try to find out why there was pain with the Neuropathy in just one area. The answers were always “no, it is not what we thought” it was. So the doctor would come up with another test to see if it is that or not.
I had several MRI ruling out MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Head, Shoulder or Neck Problems.
I had already started physical therapy because by now I was unable to raise my arm above my head.
When I was diagnosed with neuropathy, I thought that should be the end of the suffering but there is much more to come in the next chapter.
